Matter management
LiveGroup contracts, research, obligations, meetings and tasks by matter — with a timeline of everything that happened on it.
- ✓One matter gathers documents, redline sessions, obligations, hearings, meetings, tasks and research links
- ✓An activity timeline of every audited action on the matter — tasks, meetings, minutes, exports, contract status changes, renewal decisions — merged with the AI calls made on it
- ✓Each AI entry on the timeline carries the model and prompt version that produced it
- ✓The matter's tasks are the organisation's one task list filtered by matter — no second list to keep in step
What it is.
A matter is an arbitrary collection — a deal, a dispute, a vendor relationship, a regulatory filing — that groups together the client, the documents, obligations, meetings, tasks and research links associated with it.
The matter page has an activity timeline: every audited action scoped to the matter, in time order — a task created or completed, a meeting started, minutes generated, minutes exported, a contract's status changed, a renewal decided — merged with the AI calls made on the matter, each carrying the model and prompt version that produced its output. The timeline is read-only and the log behind it is append-only. Tasks on the matter page are the organisation's one task list filtered by matter; there is deliberately no separate matter-side list of next actions, so a task made anywhere shows up here and a task made here shows up everywhere.
Three steps.
End to end.
Give it a name, an owner, a client, tags, and optionally a contract value with its currency.
Documents, redline sessions, obligations, hearings, meetings, tasks and research links all hang off the matter.
The timeline says what happened and who did it. Close the matter and the closing date is stamped, or archive it out of the active list — open tasks on it are cancelled when it is archived.

Quick answers.
No, and it used to. The matter-side next-actions list was retired in September 2026 and its rows moved into the one task list. What the matter page shows is that list filtered by matter, so a task filed from a meeting, from Vio, or by the contract sweep appears here without anyone copying it.
No. There are no time entries, no rates and no budgets. A matter records a contract value, not hours.
As a filing bundle: evidence, correspondence and court orders by default, in the order you set or by each document's own date, exported as one PDF stamped with annexure numbers and page numbers. See Matter Journey & filing bundle. Meeting minutes export individually, to PDF or Word.
