What it is.
Vio is LexVio's AI copilot. It sits inside a document and answers questions in plain English — "what's the liability cap?", "is there an arbitration clause?", "what's the termination notice?". Answers come back with the sources Vio drew on, as numbered references you can open.
Vio answers in a thread that remembers what you already asked, and you can put any clause in front of it directly — paste or select the text and ask it to explain, simplify, or redraft just that passage.
Three steps.
End to end.
Pull up a contract from the vault or paste fresh text into the scanner. Vio attaches to whatever you're viewing.
Type a natural question. Vio retrieves the relevant passages from the document, with the applicable-law context for the contract's governing law, and answers from them.
Answers carry numbered source references. Where the answer quotes your own document, the citation preview verifies the quotation back to the exact page — see Citation verification.
What you get.
- ✓Numbered source references on answers, with a preview card per reference
- ✓Quotations from your own documents can be verified back to the page they came from
- ✓Follow-up questions — Vio keeps the thread and its history
- ✓Highlight + ask — put any clause in front of Vio and ask it to explain that passage
- ✓Simplify mode — restate a clause in plain English while preserving its legal effect
- ✓Generate counter-clauses or alternative wordings inline
- ✓Four answer personas — senior associate, partner / GC, boutique drafter, plain English
- ✓Export a thread to PDF or DOCX as a structured report
- ✓Knows the work beside the document — "what's due today", "what did the client agree to" are answered from your own tasks and meeting minutes through read-only tools, and Vio can open the task list or the meeting for you
- ✓Never files a task or edits a meeting itself — a task is a draft you confirm, a follow-up email is a draft you send
- ✓An answer keeps writing if you navigate away — come back and it is there. Stop ends it on purpose; a stopped answer offers Continue and a failed one offers Retry
Quick answers.
Vio is scoped to the document (or documents) you attach to the thread. For portfolio-wide queries, use Nexus.
No. Vio can read your tasks and meetings, and it can turn a sentence into a task draft or a follow-up email draft — but the draft is shown to you with a button, and nothing is filed or sent until you press it. Its tools over the work modules are read-only by design.
Check it. Every citation can be sent to the citation-verification endpoint, which returns verified, ambiguous, or unresolved. Quotations from your own vault are verified by finding the words in your document. LexVio holds no case-law or statute corpus for the jurisdictions this product serves, so a case or statute citation is never returned as verified — check it at the official source. See the Citation verification page for exactly what each verdict means.
