Getting started
Trying LexVio before you commit to anything.
Is there a free way to try LexVio?
Yes. A free public contract scanner is available at /scan with no account required, allowing up to 3 scans per day.
What does Legal AI do?
Legal AI reviews contracts in about 30 seconds. Upload a PDF or DOCX, or paste text, and it returns a complete risk report with AI redlining and fix suggestions plus a Legal Health Score from 0 to 100.
Do we need an in-house legal team to use it?
No. LexVio is built for businesses without dedicated counsel, though it is not a substitute for a lawyer on high-stakes matters.
Do I need to know how to code to build a workflow agent?
No. Workflow Agents use a no-code builder, so you can assemble multi-step automations without writing code, or start from a pre-built template.
Can we deploy more than one module?
Yes. Enterprises can deploy Legal AI, Compliance AI, and Workflow Agents together as a multi-module rollout.

What the AI actually does, and where its edges are.
How does LexVio verify its answers?
Every citation comes back with a verdict rather than a link — verified, ambiguous or unresolved — and never renders as confirmed unless it is. Quoted language is verified by containment against your own uploaded documents, with the document and page attached; a match on title alone caps at ambiguous, because a document by that name existing is not that document saying what was claimed. AI output is a starting point and is not a substitute for qualified legal review on high-stakes matters.
Is LexVio a replacement for a lawyer?
No — and we're honest about that. LexVio accelerates legal work. For high-stakes transactions — M&A, litigation, regulatory investigations — consult qualified counsel in the relevant jurisdiction.
Does LexVio hold a case-law or statute corpus for my jurisdiction?
No, and the product says so rather than returning a near-match. A citation it cannot resolve comes back unresolved with a note telling you to check the official source. Your own vault is the corpus it can check anywhere — prior matters, executed contracts, your playbook — which is why verification is scoped there.
Which law does LexVio analyse my contract under?
The one the contract names. The governing-law clause is matched deterministically across the whole document and outranks any model classification; sub-national law is resolved where contract law is sub-national. If nothing settles it, the jurisdiction is recorded as unknown and the contract is analysed as a general commercial contract — never reassigned to another country's law on a guess.
How is the Legal Health Score computed?
Weighted blend of per-clause risk scores with category-specific multipliers. Methodology is published in the docs once the product hits GA.
Can I add my own templates?
Yes — admins can upload firm-specific templates with custom parameters. Workspace-scoped or shared org-wide.
How do you handle a 1000-page document?
Use bulk analysis to chunk it across multiple calls, or split it into logical sections. Single-call cap stays at 200K input tokens.
What does Compliance AI do on the global product?
It runs your privacy programme under the data-protection law of your country — applicability, an obligation register and readiness calendar, data inventory, notices and consent, individual rights requests, breach response, retention, processors, impact assessments and audit packs — and tracks your contracts' own obligations and renewals. It does not include a statutory filing calendar or a regulatory-change feed for your country.
What happens if my webhook endpoint is down?
We retry with exponential backoff for 24 hours. After that, the event goes to the failed-delivery queue for manual replay from admin.
Pricing & plans
Limits, billing, invoices, and what happens when you leave.
What plans are there, and what do they cost?
Four: Starter ($6 a month — 50 AI scans, 2 GB), Pro ($24 — 250 scans, 15 GB), Business ($60 — 700 scans, 50 GB), each for one seat, and Enterprise, priced per agreement with seats and quota set in the contract. Every plan is charged in US dollars through Stripe. If your account is registered in another currency, the charge is still in USD and your bank applies its own conversion rate — we never quote a converted price. The free public scanner at /scan needs no account.
Can I change or cancel my plan anytime?
Yes. Upgrade from Billing at any time. To stop a subscription, use the Stripe billing portal from your Billing page or write to support; it ends at the close of the paid period. Every paid plan carries a 7-day money-back guarantee from the first charge, and EU and UK consumers keep their statutory 14-day right of withdrawal.
Do unused reviews roll over?
No. Monthly limits reset on your billing date. Unused reviews do not carry over. If you consistently exceed your limit, upgrading is typically more cost-effective than rollover credits.
Do you provide invoices for billing?
Yes. Each payment is issued a commercial invoice in US dollars, numbered in its own series. It carries no estimated sales tax: where we are registered for a tax the real figures are shown, and we never guess a rate from your country.
Do you refund a cancellation part-way through a month?
Outside the 7-day money-back window and any statutory withdrawal right, mid-period cancellations are not pro-rated — the subscription runs to the end of the paid period. A refund we do issue comes with a credit note against the commercial invoice.
Is there a free tier on the API?
No. The Intelligence API is not part of the self-serve plans; it is switched on under an Enterprise agreement — contact sales.
Is there a student plan?
Not today. Starter is the lowest-priced plan, and anyone — student or not — can use the free contract scanner at /scan without an account.
Security & data
Where your documents sit, who can read them, and what the models are allowed to do with them.
Is my data secure? Who sees my contracts?
Contracts are encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2 or later). LexVio staff do not read your documents — access is restricted to logged security or abuse investigations, or support you ask for, per our DPA. LexVio trains no model on your content, and under our AI vendors' API terms your content is not used to train theirs. We hold no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification today — see /trust for current status.
Where exactly does my data live?
Uploaded documents, exports and backups are stored in AWS ap-south-1 (Mumbai, India), written with server-side encryption. Document content and meeting audio are also transmitted to the AI sub-processors listed in our DPA (model inference, embeddings, parsing, transcription — US-based) to perform the analysis you request. India has no EU adequacy decision, so EU/UK customers should review the transfer terms in the DPA before uploading personal data. We are not quoting a backup retention figure here until it is one we can evidence.
Is this compliant with my sector's data-localisation requirements?
Not if your sector requires data to stay in your own country. The hosted service stores every organisation's documents in one region (AWS ap-south-1) with no per-organisation region routing, and the transfer safeguards are set out in the DPA. Confirm your specific obligations with your compliance counsel.
What telemetry do you collect — model latency, error rates?
We collect aggregated, content-free telemetry to monitor model health. No customer content leaves to power this — only timings and error categories.
Does my document content get cached?
No — only the stable prefix (system prompts, model instructions, firm style). Your document content is never cached.
Is your prompt-injection defence provably injection-proof?
No defence is perfect. We layer multiple controls and continuously update — but we don't make absolute claims.
Does LexVio support SSO and role-based access?
Role-based access, yes, on every plan, with Google sign-in. For single sign-on, SAML identity-provider connectors can be set up today, but sign-in through the identity provider is still being built; SCIM provisioning is switched on per Enterprise agreement.
Can I forward audit events to my SIEM?
Not today. The audit trail is append-only and readable in the product, and an administrator can export the AI request history to CSV, but there is no outbound feed of audit events yet.
Can we use a self-hosted LLM?
Not today. Model inference runs through Anthropic, with OpenAI for embeddings and transcription and Google only when Deep Audit is used. A self-hosted deployment is scoped per engagement, and in air-gapped mode no external model vendor is reached at all.
Can I cap AI spend?
Yes, for the whole organisation. Under AI Administration an administrator can set a daily AI-spend cap (model calls stop for the day once it is reached), lower the model tier the platform would otherwise use, and switch individual AI features off. These settings can only lower what the platform allows, never raise it. There is no per-team or per-workspace cap.
Is my contract stored when I use the free scanner?
Public scans are processed in memory and not stored against any account. Logs are aggregated, not content-level.
Global coverage & jurisdiction
What the product claims about your country's law — and what it deliberately doesn't.
Which countries does LexVio cover in depth?
The country picker at sign-up offers exactly the jurisdictions our corpus holds jurisdiction-specific law for — it never implies coverage we don't have. If your country isn't listed, you pick "Other" and LexVio treats your jurisdiction as unknown rather than guessing.
What happens when a contract's jurisdiction is unknown?
Unknown is a real answer, not an error. Analysis proceeds against a general commercial-contract framework, with no fallback to any particular country's statutes — a wrong legal frame is worse than a general one. A governing-law clause found in the document itself always outranks any guess about where you are.
How are citations verified?
Every citation carries a verdict — verified, ambiguous, or unresolved. Quoted language is verified by containment in your own uploaded documents; a match on title alone is never enough for "verified". An authority you type into a matter's research links stays unverified until you ask for it to be checked, and LexVio holds no case-law or statute corpus for the jurisdictions the global product serves, so it never pretends to have found one.
Does LexVio give one "market standard" clause position for every country?
No — deliberately. Where the law genuinely differs across jurisdictions (non-compete clauses, for example, are void in California and enforceable-if-reasonable in England), a single "standard" position would read as authoritative to whichever customer it is wrong for, so we withhold shared guidance there rather than average it.
Privacy, clients & administration
The privacy programme, the client portal, and the controls your administrators hold.
Which data-protection laws does the privacy programme cover?
Fourteen: the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, California's CCPA/CPRA, New York's SHIELD Act, Delaware's Personal Data Privacy Act, Canada's PIPEDA, Australia's Privacy Act, New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, Singapore's PDPA, Hong Kong's PDPO, South Africa's POPIA, Kenya's Data Protection Act, Nigeria's NDPA and the DIFC Data Protection Law (summaries and links to the official text only). Your organisation's country picks the starting law, and an administrator can hold several at once. If your country is not on the list, the programme asks you to choose rather than guessing.
Is the privacy content verified? Is it legal advice?
Neither, and the product says so on screen. Every law pack is marked drafted: its content has not yet been checked against the official text by counsel. Response periods, notification clocks and clause lists are a working starting point for your privacy team, not legal advice — confirm them with qualified counsel before you rely on them.
Which plans include the privacy programme?
Pro, Business and Enterprise. It is not on Starter.
How do my clients sign in to the client portal?
With a one-time link, valid for 15 minutes, sent to the email address you hold on file for that contact. The link a client receives when you share something is a landing page, not a password. A client sees only what you have shared with them — a matter, a workflow, a document, a case analysis or a bundle — with the actions you allowed, such as uploading, answering or approving. Revoking a share takes effect on the client's next request, and a client's answer stays unverified until someone on your side accepts it.
Do identity documents go to an AI vendor?
No. A document filed as an identity document is never sent to any AI model, never embedded and never indexed for retrieval, and no AI workflow can be run on it afterwards.
How long are documents and recordings kept?
Until your organisation deletes them, unless an administrator sets a retention period — per document category, and separately for meeting audio — after which the stored file is purged automatically. A meeting whose audio is purged keeps its transcript and minutes as your business record. We set no default retention period for you: how long to keep, say, identity documents is a legal decision for your organisation. Audio dictated into the product is transcribed and not stored.
What can an administrator restrict?
Access policies: an IP allowlist, which platforms may sign in (web, phone), and a maximum session age counted from sign-in. They are checked on every request except signing in and out, and a change that would lock out the person saving it is refused. A multi-factor authentication preference can be stored, but it is not enforced today. AI Administration adds the model ceiling, feature switches, the daily spend cap, AI security events and the AI request history.
Are files exported from LexVio marked as AI-generated?
Yes, in the file's metadata rather than on the page. Exported meeting minutes, Vio answers and redlined documents carry machine-readable AI-provenance markings — the model, the prompt version and whether a person reviewed it, where we hold that — for transparency duties such as Article 50 of the EU AI Act. Nothing is printed on the document you send. Inside the product, AI-written analysis is labelled "AI-assisted — review before relying on it."
