Recipient watermarking
BetaStamp a shared PDF with the recipient's identity on every page, so a leaked copy points back at the share.
- ✓Diagonal per-page text watermark naming the share recipient
- ✓Applied at download time, so each recipient's copy differs
- ✓PDF only — other file types are served unmodified
- ✓No firm logo, no hidden metadata tag, and no per-share opacity or placement control
What it is.
Switch watermarking on for a share link and every page of the PDF the recipient downloads carries a diagonal stamp naming them — their name if you gave one, otherwise their email. Different recipients of the same document get different files.
This is a deterrent and a trace, not digital rights management. The stamp is drawn into the page and can be obscured by someone determined to obscure it, there is no hidden metadata tag behind it, and it applies to PDFs only.
Three steps.
End to end.
Turn the watermark switch on when you create the link.
The name or email you set on the share is what gets stamped.
A leaked copy carries the recipient it was issued to, so it points at one share.

Quick answers.
No. The watermark is text naming the recipient. There is no image watermark.
No. There is no XMP or metadata embedding — what you see stamped on the page is the whole mechanism. Anyone claiming a forensic trace beyond that would be overselling it.
No. It does not prevent copying, printing or forwarding. It makes a leak attributable, which is a different and more modest thing.
